Daybreak 03:35
You've got it in your mind, But it only takes some time to realign. Cause I won't believe it, As the atoms collide the oxygen ignites When day breaks, and this castle falls Like watching waves crash into sand When all is said and done I know exactly where you stand We all make mistakes, God I know I've made quite a few. My flesh is melting, On the pyre for all things we once knew. When day breaks, and this castle falls Like watching waves crash into sand When all is said and done I know exactly where you stand Goodbye she said.. Goodbye.. A lie she said.. Goodbye.. When day breaks, and this castle falls Like watching waves crash into sand When all is said and done I know exactly where you stand

Last Night 03:27
I could have never predicted yesterday, But now I can't have it any other way You caught me when I least expected Now I'm hopelessly defective Last night, couldn't stop the feeling To shout it at the top of my lungs My voice is coarse, my head is reeling Lost ourselves in young love Ten years from now I'll mark this day, As the start of it all taking shape If I could capture this moment Id roll it up so we could smoke it Last night, couldn't stop the feeling To shout it at the top of my lungs My voice is coarse, my head is reeling Lost ourselves in young love I can't wait... another day Last night, couldn't stop the feeling To shout it at the top of my lungs My voice is coarse, my head is reeling Lost ourselves in young love I can't wait... another day

Gone away, With all the hopes and dreams of yesterday Lost & Found, Like thieves in the streets in a murderous town Take our escape, Across the rooftops and down the alleyways Without a sound, Watch as the bodies hit the ground We don't need for nothing Living like we do We don't dream for nothing We never had a clue There'll come a day When the new generation will awake Through the pain We will rise up together and claim our place Without a face, Our will grows deeper and it shows today It's only time Til there's no where left to run and hide We don't need for nothing Living like we do We don't dream for nothing We never had a clue

Only One 04:04
I know it's hard to believe in something Moments escape and dreams turn to nothing If life's a sequence without meaning Why are we still breathing How many times can we do the same things Expecting results without going insane Know I can't promise not to disappoint you I can always be true So tell me what you're thinking Show me what you're feeling Tell me what you're needing Never stop believing Of all the things I never told you How could I live without you You're the only one for me Take it on, I'll never leave you Darling, I couldn't deceive you You're the only one for me If you say jump, I'll say how high Believe it or not I know that we'll get by I know somethings in life are just worth Jumping in feet first Find it in yourself to give us a chance And this just won't be our first glance Some moments seem to last a lifetime Some just pass by So tell me what you're thinking Show me what you're feeling Take me where your heart goes This time I need to know Of all the things I never told you How could I live without you You're the only one for me Take it on, I'll never leave you Darling, I couldn't deceive you You're the only one for me

Gone Forever 02:54
Have we lost our way? It seems like yesterday we were so sure.. So sure of ourselves Making promises we'd never keep, Living out the dreams Now it feels like you're letting go With so much change you don't recognize the afterglow? Time twisted that which lifted your spirits for so long? Did it ever mean anything at all? You'll never know if you don't take a chance before it's Gone Forever... I could have sworn you said Just close your eyes and count back from ten.. and it'd be alright No it won't, but I can't live with my eyes closed Living with your ghost Where can I go to make my amends? Made a list of all of things now its the end Not sure I'll ever reconcile when it all began Or that I'll ever understand You'll never know if you don't take a chance before it's Gone Forever... Even if you strain to see it Denial is past spent Even if you fail to be it It's all that I have You'll never know if you don't take a chance before it's Gone Forever...

Because I didn't want to wait a lifetime Doesn't mean that I was wrong We knew I'd always leave this life behind Going off to find just where I belong Time and time again, the same old picture Haunts an empty room A house is not a home, Flesh and Blood What you made me go through Suffocating under the weight of your regret, Til there's nothing left, it is only time At the crossroads taking the first step A step away from death, because 'Home is where you die' Time and time again, the same old picture Haunts an empty room A house is not a home, Flesh and Blood What you made me go through Flesh and Blood What you made me go through

Throw up your arms. Feel the blood drain from your toes. This rollercoaster is all that Keeps you from falling down below. Just holding on To the things that make you real You can't live your life in fear Denying what you're meant to feel And over and over, We just can't pretend It's more than what I say. It's who I am. No matter what they say You gotta give it all you got No matter what they say You can't believe it Live for today or rocking out and having fun Will be over before it's done Tonight we can have it all Tonight no one's left alone To face the sunset on those dreams They could never let go Tonight they can't take us Tonight they can't break us ..down Sometimes falling is just knowing That you will end up on the ground And over and over, We just can't pretend It's more than what I say. It's who I am.

about

In 2004 Mr Solid was at the crossroads coming up on 10 years. We'd reformed with our other founding member Josiah after a brief hiatus where Duncan and I had toured in the short-lived hardcore band The Retaliation. We'd taken on Adam as our lead guitarist and we were set to make it or break it. We had been shopping the studios for producers. One of those sessions produced the Greenhouse Recording. Needless to say that never ended up happening and continued to evolve our sound to a place where we felt our music could be taken more seriously. With the formation of Solid we did accomplish that and attracted Mike Reno to produce our album. We had prepared about 15 tracks for a new album but budget dictated that we try to shop a well produced EP before doing a full album. The result was the Solid recording. The egos and conflicting vision made short work of that band, and we all went our separate ways starting up new Hardcore and Metal projects. But never pop punk again.

It was no secret to those who know me well, those songs were not my favorite of the bunch. While I was onboard with the new direction, the writing process and content prevented me from ever returning to that time period. For me Mr Solid was always about reliving those moments that maybe in the whole scheme of things meant nothing but felt so life changing at the time. The songs reflected our nostalgia right out the gate, even though the events may have just happened the night before. I had this keen sense that if I didn't celebrate them then I may never. It's a lot like the end of Stand by Me, "I never had any friends later on like the ones I had when I was twelve. Jesus, does anyone?". It's more than a statement about innocence lost (and definitely much more apt than our hideous "Innocence lost is Stupidity Gained" patches). Sometimes you can just never really go back. This was a lot more subtle than the last time I walked into Seylynn Hall and understood I didn't belong there anymore. It was more that you can't relive your first love.

Honestly it may have just taken this long for all of us to finally appreciate what we were doing and get over how juvenile and ignorantly simple it might seem. Or it might be the last couple years have a been a lot of new firsts in our lives and it has given the rare opportunity to take a moment to appreciate life that surrounds us. Luckily for us the songs were already written and we just needed to pour our new feelings into our old experiences as a send off to the most defining time period of our lives. It wasn't a time when we accomplished the most. Like how to do quantify the value of lazy Sunday afternoon band practices and 5 am sunsets after staying up all night after a great show? How can you measure living a dream with your best friends? In a way it was the continuation of those days at age 12, when we built tree forts in the park and swung on the swing sets past sunset. If playing in a pop punk band is not the epitome of a Peter Pan complex I'm not sure what is.

Maybe some of you can relate and can take a few moments to go back to a time when the unimportant was so important and when friendship was bigger than life; a time when every loss felt like an eternity, and every new day felt like the dawn of a new era. This has been a passion project for us and we want to give it away free of cost. Hopefully you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it. And all best on the roads you now travel.

See you in a lifetime...

Ryan Solid
